We just don't know what type of emergency situation may occur. It could be anything.

From getting ill so you have to stay at home, power cuts in your area, food shortages due to the shops not being able to resupply, local or regional emergencies like flooding or storms. In the past it was the national lockdowns due do a pandemic, now we have the cost of living crisis, or even worse scenarios. Most of us know what has happened recently, what if it happened again. If you break down the short-term and long-term emergencies and prepare for them in sequence, it will be easier and less overwhelming to put together emergency survival foods and other supplies.
